training Safe-Lifting Training Safe-Lifting Training is a training program where a person is trained to lift and move properly, reducing their risk of injury. Body mechanics are very important in maintaining a balanced position while performing a variety of work tasks. Workers in physically demanding jobs can use their bodies in ways that increase their risk of injury. When the body is moved in an unbalanced position, it is utilized at a mechanical disadvantage. Like any material, whether steel cables or muscles, over time and with repetitive use, the body will wear out. Using the body with a mechanical advantage takes training, practice and constant awareness. This program teaches and trains employees in job specific tasks to reduce their risk of injuries and increase their awareness of how to best use their bodies.
